a walk to the grocery store

Tonight Hannah and I walked with my special cart to the store. We bought a few items to last the next few days. when you eat mostly fresh food it goes very fast. We carefully examine each label if it isn't fresh and are astounded by what we were eating! I hope this walk becomes a habit for us. we talked about our day and what was going on in our lives. really looking forward to next week!

Winning and thinning!

Today is officially on week since we began this journey. Mostly I am just famished. When I consider the changes in my eating over the last week I am amazed (and ashamed) at how I was eating. I refer to my previous eating habits as "Eating without Conscience". Pretty much anything, anytime. I have excuses BUT YOU ALL KNOW THAT IT IT ESPECIALLY DIFFICULT FOR ME(!) because I am Executive Chef at the world famous City Restaurant and I have to stand in front of a plate FULL of bacon ALL day, and BACON IS GOOD! Maybe I should be given an extra 5 (or 10) pound advantage considering the sacrifice. What do you think? Ok Agreed I deserve an advantage. Therefore my weight loss this week is ASTOUNDING!! I won't give you the exact number because with my advantage you would all probably run to the pantry get a cookie and cry! Keep up the good work everyone! I'll lose even more this week when my teammate returns from his vacation (where I know he's been eating healthy-HA!!) and we can encourage each other! I have food pictures but can't load them yet-It's a work in progress! Love ya Bunches! CBC

Challenges from a weekend away

so i am into this challenge but i went away for the weekend and the hostess is a superb cook. i politely ate all offered so need to make up some ground! i did exercise with bicycling, kayaking and golf. i really think though that my heart racing at the sight of the porcupine within 8 feet of me took several pounds off instantly! well onto week two feeling very good about our teams' progress!

A message from half of Team 3, the unofficial winners.

{please ignore my lazy eyeball. i have pink eye. hooray!}

UPDATE: TEAM 3 has been drinking their Protein-Metamucil shakes and are prepared to DOMINATE the competition. No one else stands a chance. HOO-RAH.

Team HanJan rules.

don't judge me lol. enjoy.
btw, it's better if you watch in the better quality.

Ready, Set Get Ready to lose! (in more ways than One!)

I think of this as the journey of a family who (finally) thought they could be healthier and look better, as opposed to the story of a mother who liked to make baked goods for her family ...and all it took was a (not always so friendly) family competition. We all support each other and want universal success with healthy results but more than that we want our own team to win !
So this morning it came to me..The family that weighs together..Stays together!
